I recently brought my Umbrella Cockatoo to Lynwood to check a swollen eye.
The staff there were friendly but being a client completely new who had never brought a pet to this clinic. I would have appreciated some detailed information on what the clinic charges are and how they operate prior to the end of my visit.
My bird is 25 years old, a complete rock star in his behavior, and very well traveled but during his exam as he was sitting on a perch on a scale I leaned on the table to talk to him as he was starting to get a bit nervous and the entire exam table completely collapsed sending the scale and my bird crashing to the floor. No harm done to my bird other than a good scare but an exam table should be sturdy enough to withstand someone putting their elbows on it. At the end of my visit I went home with a small amount of medications and a bill well over 250$???
Would I come back? Probably, but not before I receive more detail in advance of any future visit on what clinic charges are going to be, and he is not going to be placed on any folding exam tables ever again.
