I had a previous VW specialized repair shop that would sometimes charge me an arm and a leg for my repairs but never alerted me of my malfunctioning thermostat. When I drove up to my Army MP unit in Flagstaff and it was in the teens or low 20s, I noticed.my temp never went near the 190 degree mark unless it idled.
Now it has finally been changed and works and warms up like a charm and it's better for the engine. I figured I might as well get the cooling system ready for summer now and had them do a full system flush for peace of mind.
Next time I get my oil changed I'm going to have them remove my ABS sensor control module and have it rebuilt in Moscow, ID. For only a $100 plus shipping. John knew how expensive a new one was ($800.00 +) so was trying to help me with cost saving options like doing a diagnostic check on all the connectors.
They are honest, very competent and efficient.
I just wait at the nearby Maverick saloon and if you can deal with the smoke and the country music, you might not even go home hungry after ordering one of their reasonable home cooked meals.
