After I paid $178 for just lens, not frames, lens alone. My wife informed me that I could have taken the lens prescription to another eye care provider and purchased 2 pairs of actually glasses for $100! And that is with my insurance. Great eye doctor. But lens are overpriced...

As is the case for so many consumer purchases, premium products cost more than 'Loss Leader' products. This is especially true when multiple options are chosen by the patient, like high impact, thin and light material and TD2 anti-scratch coatings. Add this to the fact that the progressive design is a modern dual-sided geometry and, of course, the price will be higher than a basic lens. If the patient has worn single vision lenses in the past, the price for a progressive will, of course, be considerably higher. Also, it needs to be said that the price for lenses with these options is determined by the patient's insurance company, not by our office.
