Came in as a new client, asking for a specific color. The stylist told me she could achieve it. 3 hours and $300 later, my hair was almost exactly the same color as when I came in. This price included one of the "recommended treatments" since I wasn't getting a haircut to protect my hair. Of course the price of the treatment wasn't included in my quote before I started. If I had known I paid $50 to get conditioner in my hair, I would've bought a bottle to take home with me. And my hair was exactly the same.
It's terrible all these up charges, treatments and products they push on you to try and squeeze another dollar out of you. And the receptionist with the half shaved head was clearly too cool to crack a smile or say hey as 3 people walked through the door. Stylists should be paid well for their time and craft but I got the impression I was overpaying because MCN is trying too hard to be trendy. I was impressed with the nice building and cute dogs, but that's about it. I couldn't recommend this place.
I initially chose it because of all the online reviews, but hey, that could just be good marketing.
I chose a new salon based on a friend's recommendation, and the fact her hair looks good. Wish I would've done that In the first place.
