I'm sorry to hear about your transmission issue! I did some research about your visit and see that you noted some noise after repair of your cooling system. Our recheck showed no issue with our work but the technician recommended a tire rotation which seemed to help--but advised you that we did hear some rotational noise. We didn't do (or charge for) a complete diagnostic. We would want to do a complete diagnosis and make absolutely sure the transmission is at fault before we would recommend such an expensive repair.

Simon, thank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback. I take feedback very seriously and use it to coach my staff---I believe there is always room for improvement.

I'm sorry that you had to return because you were not forewarned about the possible noise. I did see that John had noted this on the work order but this had not been communicated appropriately to you.

What also had not been documented or communicated appropriately was what John had to do to diagnose the noise (you mentioned the noise came from the engine area.) New to this industry, I now realize how hard and time consuming some noises are to diagnose. In your case, John took off the belt and pulleys to test their function. He also accessed manufacturer research for tech bulletins about the problem. He charged $50 for this time and only $30 for the repair.

Your points are very valid. We did a poor job of explaining (and documenting) our service process.
