Dr. Woo was compassionate and well informed. Listened and responded. The prescription process was hard, though. Prescription was sent to Bartells and after waiting at the pharmacy for 30 minutes was told they did not accept goodrx. Prescriptions were called in later to Walgreens by Matt which took more than an hour. Went home to wait. My third trip to the pharmacy we finally got the prescriptions. The whole prescription process turned out to be frustrating.

Everyone was really great at the clinic. If you have a major dental issue with your pets I have no doubt they would take the best care of them.

I dropped my dog off and gave him the prescribed medication with the expectation his teeth would be cleaned within an 1-2hours if drop off and was told he would be ready for pick up at 5pm. I reached out at 5:30pm to find out how things were going, as I had not received a call and was told I would receive a call once the dentist had done the charting and xrays to review his current state and go over next steps, then provide a revised estimate based on work that would be performed. Dr. Crocker didn’t call until 6:30pm! Then said he would be ready between 6:45-7pm. I then received a phone call shortly after to collect final payment. I expressed concerns over his being released so quickly after being under anesthesia. When I expressed concern over my dog being released so quickly after being woken up, Dr. Crocker response was ask me about how many dogs I’ve released that have had issues. I complied and asked, he responded 0! I asked if the office would be available by phone if there were any issues after hours, he said no, I could reach out to a 24 hour clinic. I was concerned he could have an allergic reaction, because he has them to some vaccinations.

The dentist pointed out if he was fixed he had undergone anesthesia before. I had forgotten this, but I also remember they kept him at the office for a few hours to monitor his recovery. I emailed the office the next day, and expressed my disappointment and let them know I was unhappy that my dog was not prioritized properly. I understand issues can come up and appointments can run longer in the morning, but the fact no one bothered to call to communicate the delay or reach out to see if I wanted to reschedule was unprofessional and unfair to my dog. He doesn’t like being at the vets, he can sense it. I know it stressed him out to be there for hours waiting. I would have preferred to reschedule or have someone in the area (family or friend) pick him up so he didn’t have to wait there. When I asked if he was given additional medication prior to the surgery in my email the next day, because he was acting skidding, was listless, and glassy-eyed, and could barely sit up straight. Although subdued from his fixing appointment, he didn’t look anything like this and his bottom was all wet and stinky. The medication I have him was supposed to be timed based on him going under around 10am, my question was not addressed about whether additional medication was given to him to compensate for the very late start. They did answer my question as to whether he had been in a crate and if he had been taken out to relieve himself. He was kept in a dog run where they said they could see him, but was not taken out as I had warned he can escape from certain harnesses. Because the had me take off his collar

for Covid precautions to help prevent the spread of germs, that made me glad he was not taken on a walk, bc I’d worry he’d escape. But knowing my dog, I doubt he relieved himself all day, evident in the amount of #2 he passed shortly after I picked him up and because he’s trained to not go potty inside. As for his stinky and wet bottom, they said that sometimes the bladder relaxes when they come out of the anesthesia so that could have happened. They had a tech call me the next day after I emailed my concerns, but I was not available by phone due to a family medical issue. They should be able to provide an honest and direct answer in writing. Although his teeth look nicely cleaned, their lack of communication in regard to the massive delay not addressing questions about how much medication he had are very concerning. I give them a 2 because his teeth look much better than before (for that I would probably give a 4 or 5). They cleaned off a lot of plaque. I wish I could give them a much higher mark, but the low marks comes down to trust. While the staff has great customer skills and the dentist is friendly and makes an effort to meet and greet with customers, the low marks come from lack of communication regarding the several hour delay, lack of response regarding questions on how much or if additional medication was given to him, fallacious arguments in defense of Science Diet food when I questioned the ingredients when he recommended the food, and Dr. Crocker said he thought my payment had gone through (which wasn’t what I had asked) when I let him know I had already paid the final balance as someone had called already to collect it (I thought it was odd for them to ask to verify my billing address when I had already put down a deposit of $500 that had cleared for the appointments, they seemed very eager to take my money) as if to imply maybe I couldn’t pay (I knew my card would go though unless it had been compromised). I sought out a doggy dentist to try and find the best care that money can buy for my dog. I live over 60 miles away (though work in Seattle), and I wouldn’t have signed up to come here if I couldn’t afford it or didn’t want the best for my doodle. I’m disappointed in the overall experience. You have to trust your care providers because your animal’s lives are in their hands. To me, the dig at the end on whether I could pay is dismissible to me if I feel confident my dog is getting great treatment and great care. While his teeth look much better, the massive delay in the start time, lack of communication, being off sync with his medication, and then being sent out the door quickly dissolved that trust and level of overall care he received. I’d recommend seeking care elsewhere.

MI Vet Clinic really cares about our pets! My dog was somewhat fearful of the injections she needed so Dr Wu & the tech asked if I’d be comfortable if they brought my dog outside so I could help put her more at ease. (I was waiting in my car as part of the COVID safety protocol.) Mission accomplished! Vaccination given. We finished up the visit outside, socially distanced and my dog was wagging her tail as she got treats for being brave! She really loves the TLC everyone gives her start to finish at MI Vet Clinic! I received an email later recapping what was done during exam and helpful information on teeth/gum health.

Dewey loves going to the vet. After having a dog who was terrified, it’s a relief having a puppy who loves it. I really enjoy being able to wait in the car then hand over Dewey who I know is in good hands. They call or FaceTime during appointments and are readily available to answer questions. The entire staff is so friendly and I’m so happy they are our local vet.
