They don't really seem "kid friendly" here. Maybe it was just my experience, but the assistants and the dentist all seemed cynical and sarcastic towards the children. I half expected them to roll their eyes right in front of me. (The front office staff were very nice though) The dental care we received seems well done. (This is the only reason I did not give it one star) However, I am skeptical of whether or not it was the best course of action (or whether it was the best profitable course of action for them). I wish we would have had time to get a second opinion.
I'm not sure who chose the Tim Burton (Nightmare Before Christmas) decor either! It's possibly the darkest, scariest office I have ever seen!!! How is this supposed to put children at ease about going to the dentist?! Everywhere, and I mean EVERYWHERE, you look there are skeletons, graves, haunted mansions, and evil looking figures! Thank goodness my child was young enough and I was able to distract her and block her from some of the worst. I tried to direct her attention toward the movie Tangled that was playing. I will never come back here! (only recommend if you have an emergency and they are the last people available) Does being surrounded by death make other people happy? I don't get it.
It is very sad that one person's opinion can be so defamatory against a doctor or dental staff on the first dental visit. We apologize that you feel your experience in our office was not to your standards of care. Dr. Singer presents to the parents his expert opinion and creates a treatment plan specific for that patient. All options are always discussed prior to any treatment being rendered. All financial arrangements are also reviewed with the parent prior to treatment. It is the parent's choice to have treatment done on a specific day or return another day for treatment. All patients are treated with loving care and everything is always explained to the child in a Show / Tell and Do process that they will understand. Never is there any cynical or sarcastic behavior observed from any dental staff member in this office. This person has a terrible sense of distorted reality. The theme of the office is from Disney, which includes artwork from Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion and Mary Poppins. This theme has been present in the office for the last six years and appears to be approved by 99% of the parents and patients who regularly come to this office for their dental care. We wish this parent the best of luck in finding a new pediatric dentist that meets her specific standards of care for her child.
