I always find Dr. Nase and his staff to be friendly and professional. However, I was surprised that 1) he sent me to an endodontist for a root canal when he had performed several for me prior.

2) the additional cost of going to the endodontist totally floored me and was something for which I was not prepared -- I cried.-- $347.00 out of pocket was a total unexpected expense, espeically when I have dental insurance at work.

What if a patient just plain does not have the money for this? What happens to them then ?

Is getting a supplimental dental insurance something we need to look into these days ?

Thank you for your feedback. We wanted to address your concern about being sent to an endodontist for your root canal treatment. There are certain circumstances where it is in the best interest of the patient to be sent to an endodontist who perform nothing but root canal treatment. Molar teeth which may have three or four canals, teeth with calcified canals, teeth with curved canals,or potentially cracked teeth are just some examples of a situation where the specialty of an endodontist is recommended. Usually the endodontist can perform treatment in one visit which is beneficial to the patient. We hope your experience went well.
