Overall we love the staff! Need better communication re things happening during procedure! They could've gotten a biopsy while they were in the leg area anyway! Now we have to come back and get more charges! If they would've called our cell phones which we gave them the could've gotten our permission! There always seems to be sneaky charges we don't want!
This patient was presented for a front leg lameness of undetermined origin. This patient also required a dental cleaning. It was recommended that the dental procedure be done and while the patient was under anesthesia for the dental, radiographs were done and abnormalities were seen in the shoulder. Cancer was suspected, however do to the serious nature of this disease the radiographs were referred to a Board Certified Veterinary Radiologist for a second opinion. Therefore the patient was recovered from the anesthesia pending Radiologist results These results take 24 to 48 hours to be read by the radiologist and returned to North of the River Vet Hosp.
Obviously, It was not medically feasible to keep this patient under anesthesia until we received the opinion of the radiologist.
This was all explained to the client when the patient was released to her from our hospital and she seemed to understand.
We understand that when clients receive such a serious diagnosis for their beloved pet, they are upset and often find fault for the message deliverer.
We consider Mrs Cabe to be a client that will always be welcome at our hospital. Sully (the patient) is loved by the entire staff. We regret that there has been a misunderstanding of this nature
