Have been bringing my dog here the past year and a half since I got him. He’s an 85lb absolute love. Was given calming meds to get pre op labs done because they were unsuccessful first visit. Administered them as perscribed, he was in and out and successfully had his labs drawn in under 10 min. Right after I got a phone call from Dr. Stern questioning whether or not I gave the meds, as if I was lying. She advised me that my dog would need to take these meds for every visit from here on out. She also said because he growled he was muzzled, and suggested I start muzzle training him at home. When I questioned her and stated I did not want to do so and don’t think it’s necessary to medicate him for every visit since he has never had any issues until they were attempting labs, she became very rude and condescending. Actually scoffed at me on the phone and said she didn’t think it (muzzle training) would be “such an issue.” I start to question competence when you need me to snowball my animal with meds to be able to provide care. We will definitely be establishing care elsewhere after our chat.
