After a very thorough, comprehensive, nonjudgmental examination by Dr. Jividan a woman came into the examination room, TOLD me to gather my things and follow her. She never introduced herself and at no point referred to me by my name. She placed a sheet of paper in front of me and went down the list without explanation. When I asked why the insurance part was blank she looked me in the face and replied “because you don’t have insurance”. I presented my card which she promptly put into a copying machine, picked up the phone and started dialing. She then walked to the fax machine and retrieved some papers. All this without uttering a single word to me. After revising the figures and returning my documents to me she presented her business card to me and I took my leave. I wanted to be sure that i was not overreacting but at 4 am I woke up replaying the scenario over and over and couldn’t get back to sleep. I know what I felt was real. I have no desire to even try to understand her palpable disdain and dismissive attitude which was totally contrary to everyone else with whom I interacted, I realize that I have to go through organizing and scheduling my surgery but other arrangements have to made because I won’t willingly subject myself to that kind of treatment again. The doctor was brilliant, the staff accommodating and friendly. I would wholeheartedly recommend the practice to anyone but hope that no one else has the same experience as I.
