The absolutely best Vet we’ve ever had! I have a very sensitive pit bull mix rescue named Banjo. He was clearly abused before he came to us and he has a very hard time trusting anyone but his closest humans. Unfortunately his way of showing fear can be aggression, which is honestly very hard for me at times too. He has to be sedated to be seen by a vet, even to have his nails trimmed. All of the staff at Orchard understand him. They offer him kindness and go out of their way to make it easier for him to be treated when he needs their help. Our last visit, I couldn’t get Banjo to take his pre-visit meds to calm him, and when we arrived Rachael really listened to my advice about what I know works for him and what doesn’t as far as approaching him, and took so much of her time to help me get him comfortable enough to go into the building with her. She was incredibly patient, not at all afraid, and he responded to her beautifully. When I returned to pick him up, she had photos of him cuddling up with her in the back room. I could see that’s he really attached to her and trusted her. I am SO grateful to Rachael and to Dr Knox who has also really gone out of her way to give Banjo the very best care he can get. Dr Knox has helped to solve his horrible allergies and always gives me a call to let me know how Banjo did. It is honestly amazing! I can’t recommend Orchard Vet Hospital enough!
