My recent experience with Page Family Practice was not a positive one. The staff was friendly as usual, but once the Dr. came into the room for my physical things changed. After a pleasant hello, he immediately went into one of the results of my lab work. He stated that one of the test scores was really high and it needed to be checked out immediately. I quickly realized the Dr. had not even looked at my results or file before coming into the room. if he had, he would of read that I had already been diagnosed with the illness he wanted me screened for. I have to admit, I was surprised. I immediately lost trust in what he was telling me. I had another serious health even last October that was not even brought up during my visit. We never did get to discuss the remaining lab results as the visit got cut short. He had his assistant renew all my prescriptions. When I went to pharmacy to pick them up I realized that one of them was submitted with the wrong dosage which could have created a health issue for me. Now I do understand that Doctors are busy and cannot possibly remember every patient, but at least do a patient the courtesy of reviewing the file before discussing a physical to see history. I had been to see him twice since the both of the events occurred.
I am currently deciding whether or not to find a new Primary care Doctor. I have gotten recommendations from my case worker at Blue Cross. I will be evaluating these recommendations and make my decision. I was always under the impression that a primary care Doctor was to coordinate your overall care with other specialists. I currently see 3 others and nothing was brought up about any of my care with any of them.
I am a male, 56 years old, and have been going to Page Family Practice for 7 years.
