The office visit went very well. I am a chicken when it comes to going to the dentist... but, Dr. David and his assistant put me at ease. They were calm, gentle and attentive. We even shared a group hug after it was over! LOL (Would give 5 stars for the office visit)
My only problem is... the antibiotic that Dr Dave gave me for the gum infection was amoxicillan. Unfortunately I had an allergic reaction to it. Fortunately I have a neighbor George who is a doctor. He took one look at me and knew I was having an acute allergic reaction (Hands, fingers and face were red, itchy and swelling). I discontinued the meds, Then George told me to take benedryl... he was heading out for the evening but told me the signs to watch for it it got worse to call 911 because I would need an ephrinefrin shot (spelling?) He also told me to call my Dentist and tell him and then he suggested that maybe Clandimysan (spelling) may be a better substitute for the amoxicillan.
I call the emergency on call line 3 times... Friday at 5:45pm, Saturday at 8:30am and then again around noon. No one called me back or called in a perscription replacement for me. The CVS Pharmacist was concerned that no one returned my calls.. as she felt it was somewhat serious and that I need to get on another antibiotic so the infection won't spread. What is the best way to reach someone after hours or on the weekend if they do not respond to the Emergency on call line? (Will give only 4 stars because no one returned my call)
Thank you- Lori DeLisle
