I brought in Henry for a check up. He was last seen in June. He is 13 years and 8 months. He has a number of "lumps and bumps" that seem typical of older bigger dogs. I had not met this vet before but had met the vet tech Lauren, who was great as she has been in the past. I told the vet that I wanted to do everything possible to make Henry comfortable and thought he needed pain meds. I also said I did not want to do anything surgical or invasive. She said something like "that was fine if I wanted to go with benign neglect." I am not neglectful nor did I convey that. When she left with Henry to do his blood draw, she never returned, did not say goodbye or nice meeting you and Henry. Lauren came back with Ned's, explained the timeframe for the blood work to be completed and completed the payment transaction. I did not feel this Doctor had empathy nor did I appreciate her comments. I am sure she did not intend to convey the attitude or what I felt were insensitive remarks but I would likely not choose to see her again.
Dr. Sweeney thoroughly examined my dog, provide me with information about his present condition, and prescribed medicine to help him recover. She is very caring and professional. The lab assistants also gave him loving care.
