My buddies and I adopted a one-eyed American Bulldog/Boxer named Benny 5-6 years ago. About 2 years ago(When Benny was 7 yrs old) he started having trouble getting up and down and would cry in the attempts--some of which would be failures where he simply had to lie back down and continue crying. A different vet diagnosed him with hip dysplasia in both his hips, as well as arthritis. Supplements(Dosaquin prescription strength) helped get him to about 75% of where he was. He wasn't crying all the time but he was in pain any time he walked around and wouldn't play with his toys anymore--sleeping most of the day. It looked like he might not have too long left.

Out of desperation I read about stem cells for dogs and eventually my research brought me to Parkview Vet Hospital which turned out to be right nearby. They checked him out and his issues made him a candidate for stem cell injections. In addition however they gave him a Mios supplement which eliminated a problem he had for as long as we'd owned him. He no longer shook violently while taking a crap and instead his legs were stable. A good start.

He had both of his hips injected with stem cells/PRP(Platelet-Rich-Plasma) with the rest of the stem cells sent to be frozen and stored for the future use.

Holy-sh*t what a turnaround! We kept him as inactive as we could to recover but he was in the best spirits we had ever seen him in. He went from an 8 year old dog to a 3 year old dog again where he was ripping around the house and playing with his toys aggressively. Unfortunately he got so crazy one day that he blew out his knee on the side of his body that he used to avoid using due to his hip pain. The atrophying muscles/tendons couldn't support how good his hip felt I suppose, and it resulted in a partial CL-tear.

Fortunately I brought him back and they got him Stem cell/PRP injections into each of his knees(for the injury/arthritis in general), and after a month he is now better than we've ever seen him and back to using a leg that he used to legitimately drag behind him lamely.

Knocking on wood but PVH gave our dog a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th lease on life and we couldn't be more grateful. As an added bonus, the stem cell retrieval went so well that we have plenty stored indefinitely for when this lovable pup inevitably busts his ass again while playing like a lunatic. Thank you!
