Our kids were registered for a 9 week session and I felt like the first half was a waste of money since their instructor pretty much spent the entire time just holding them and floating around the pool with them. For unknown reasons their instructor was switched out after about 5 sessions and the way the new instructor managed his time was exponentially better. They learned so much more in two sessions with the new instructor than they ever did with their previous instructor. I can't help but wonder how much more they would have gotten out of the 9 weeks had the first half not been wasted with the first instructor.
My husband and I have also been nervous at times to see that one of our kids has been left unattended while the instructor works with our other child. Our son was left to stand on a ledge on the side while the instructor drifted off a little too far with our daughter and had his back toward our son. Our son pushed off the ledge thinking he could swim on his own only to end up struggling to stay afloat. My husband, who always keeps a watchful eye, had to jump in the pool and pull my son out.
