this was my second time having my hair cut at PM. The first time was great. This time not. Ive taken a week to try to cool down and word my response here. The student was kind, had many suggestions, and did a good job for with what she knew. The instructor is where my problems are. The instructor did not ask me what I wanted done so at the end, when she checked she should have realized that what I ended up with was no where near the photo I had brought in. She just had me sign the waiver and left to not check in during the cut. Here is my frustration: I came in to have my hair donated. I had to tell the student that it had to be cut before washing. The student told me that is can be wet when cut and my mistake was listening to her thinking that she has been trained properly. So my hair was washed then the lock cut off. The styling went great. The student made a few suggestions which I accepted. The instructor came to check the cut. Don't know what she was checking on since I didn't get the cut I cam in for. I paid and left. (donations used to be free- guess that has changed???) When I got home I discovered my hair lose in the bag. IT WAS NEVER TIED INTO A LOCK BEFORE CUTTING!!!!!! I CAN NOT DONATE LOOSE HAIR!!!!! TWO YEARS OF MY LIFE GROWING THIS HAIR - WASTED!!!!!! I am so upset that I wasted 2 years of my life trying to do a good deed and help out a child for it just to be wasted. I cannot find an organization that will take this hair because it was not tied in a lock. The instructor should have known this. The instructor should have done her job and stayed with the student during the donation part like the first time I visited. When I meet the instructor and tried to tell her what I came in for she should have listened but she just had me sign and left uninterested in my needs. The instructors should have checked on the student during the process of cutting and styling my hair. The solon was not busy compared to my previous visits.
I am happy with my cut. I did take the students suggestions which is why I ended up with something other than the photo I brought in. This is why I am not upset at the student. she is a student and cant help what she has not been taught. The instructor on the other hand should not be instructing. Oh wait, that's right she wasn't instructing or even supervising.
