My first appt. was on 1/8/15 with Dr. Hai Truong. My weight increased significantly after having my cancerous prostate gland removed. It was my understanding that Dr. Truong specialized in weight loss. That is the only reason i was there (AT LEAST I THOUGHT!) She told me that she needed certain tests , blood tests & xrays, and a look back at my previous records. Of course, i would expect that. What I didn't expect was a laundry list of diagnoses by Dr. Truong.
Taking a look at the summary, you would think I was dying. First, it says: gynecologic exam???????????? This is just the beginning of a string of errors and positively dead wrong diagnoses by Truong. i do have an irregular heartbeat, no big deal. Right away, scheduled EKG. test was fine by radiologist. But, Dr. Truong scheduled an $800.00 echocardiogram. She said i have cardiomegaly (enlarged heart). Test results were read by radiologist who , of course, said, heart size was normal. She said I have abnormal blood glucose reading. I saw the test results, sugar was perfectly normal. I did have idiopathic edema in legs and was prescribed Lasix (that was correct). She said I had abnormal liver function. All the blood tests proved otherwise. There was nothing wrong with my liver. It was just another one of her mis-diagnoses. . Then i read that i had thrombocytopenia. (blood disorder). Blood tests proved otherwise.
2nd appt. was scheduled to discuss findings of first visit and, of course, there were no findings. Everything was normal except for the edema in the legs. However, when she came into the room, I am the one who had to point out my edema. She acted like this issue was something she never saw and said something about getting it treated. I couldn't believe it. She was the doctor who prescribed the lasix. She acted like she knew absolutely nothing about it. Apparently, she never even read the notes before coming into the exam room.
I persisted about finding out about the edema. She called her husband into the room and asked his opinion and he said it was lymphedema and called Via Christi lymphedema rehab clinic. That was my second & final encounter with Dr. Hai Truong. I hope for her patients' sake, that my visits with her were just an anomaly. I ended up leaving PCA after a few visits with her husband , Dr. Thahn Truong
The entire experience at PCA was a disaster. Never again!
