although it's been awhile since you've seen Leo, I just found this email for feedback in my 'spam' file. I do want to let you know how appreciative we are of the care you give our family dog, Leo. He is not so friendly with strangers. Yet with your staff he calms down and, we know, being well taken care of. Thank you.

Great service

The care and attention that my dogs have received is phenomenal always. From booking the appointment to the attention when we arrive for an appointment and the appointment itself is always handled with aplomb and sensitivity if needed.

Dr. David Sierra is one of the very best veterinarians. He truly loves all animals and has treated both my beloved dogs through life's journeys, both ups and downs with kindness, dignity, and compassion. I highly recommend both he and the SF SPCA Pacific Hospital.

I've been bringing my dogs to Pets Unlimited since 2005. While I'm not happy with the merger, I remain completely satisfied with the services we receive. Smokey Joe's regular vet, Dr. Gervais, is wonderful. She always takes the time to explain and answer any questions, follows up with a phone call if any tests have been done, and her referrals have been great too. When we've had to go in for emergencies :-( and aren't seeing Dr. Gervais, we have also received excellent care. Smokey Joe loves coming to PU - he pulls me in from the car. I am constantly referring people Dr. Gervais and Pets Unlimited.

Staff was very friendly and superb customer service. I walked in a little worried and scared for my pet not knowing if my pet was going to get better. The wait time was understanding due an another pet’s emergency. The staff was very calm and supper supportive of my needs since I am pregnant. I went in around lunch time and the visit only lasted about 1 hour. It also helps to know that this location is opened 24/7.

I came in for routine vaccinations for my dog, expecting to come out with a bill < $100, and instead was hit with a bill close to $500. My dog lost a few pounds from her last visit, and the vet did not clearly explain the blood and poop tests and wanted to prescribe additional meds for something my dog had not even been diagnosed with. Like a typical fee-for-service health care model, I felt like she upsold me with various additional services and preyed on my concern for my dog losing a few pounds.

When I asked the registration person at the front desk about the prices of the rabies vaccine being 2.5 times the cost of the city, she said that "we are a nonprofit and need to charge more," which is completely the OPPOSITE of a nonprofit. All in all, I left completely unhappy. I love what the SPCA does and may try and see if the SPCA Mission services are better but I HIGHLY DO NOT recommend the Pacific Heights office.

When you walk in, there is someone at the desk. I think that is very important.

We were seen promptly. Everyone was courteous and sympathetic. We were given excellent care and advice in an emergency situation. We are most grateful.

We consistently receive the nicest and most thoughtful care. Lots of organizations talk about operating as a team, well the people at the SF SPCA Hospital - Pacific Heights do!

My dog is old, has cancer and had to travel to England with us. The care given is heartfelt as well as competent and efficient (something sadly missing in many businesses). The records person prepared the papers for travel without being asked so Dr. James could do her part easily. Then Dr. James realized something was missing from the packet and called me immediately, apologized (how often does that happen?) and had it at the front desk for immediate pick up.

We feel we are in competent hands at the SPCA and fully support their work!
