Let me preface with stating that any other time I have been there in over the past 6 years, I have received excellent service and trust them with all my fur babies lives. This is the only time and only vet that I have ever taken any issue with. I highly recommend PVC, so long as not Michael Wells.
I have seen several vets at PVC. Dr. Knox and Dr. Brad are both very good with my anxious little guy. Last week I went in worried about an ear infection and the vet we saw Michael Wells. If this had been my first experience with PVC, I would not return. He didn't take his time to ease and introduce himself to zed making him more upset. He yelped and was scared. Where he is usually calmer with Brad and Knox. Brad and Knox are great at explaining things with me and going over options. Where as this time I had to ask what was going on as he was telling me options for allergy meds but never bothered to tell me that Zed ears were not infected, and that it was allergies. I felt as though he was rushed and annoyed with my questions. Zed also has a pubis issue where it needs flushed regularly and when I am there I have the techs do it to make sure it's clear. He second judged Dr. Brad's treatment. He began informing me how Zed could have a quick procedure if he is ever under for anything else that would eliminate the issue and be better for him. I told him Zed had been under this winter and Dr. Brad would have told me or done it if necessary. I explained to him the issue, to which he seemed irritated and replied he was going to consult with one of the other doctors while zed was back there for his opinion on it. I live on Mt Washington but I drive out to Donaldson Crossroads because I trust them. Zed had seen Dr. Brad since we got him as a pup. He has also seen Dr. Knox. They, the techs, and assistants have always taken the best care of my dogs. I trust them with their lives and am always happy with how they treat both of us. They make sure I understand what is going on. Go over all treatment and diagnostic options. Deal with Zed's and my own admitted anxieties. When I saw Dr. Knox for the first time he had clearly looked over Zed's charts before coming in. He knew what was going on and even sat on the floor while we talked so that Zed could get used to him and calm down. Zed was so upset that I rushed out of there, to try and calm him down. Not even realizing that what he had prescribed would not work. My dog is a super picky eater. If there is a pill he will gag up the food to get it out and I had just been told to give him two adult benadryl twice a day. Yep don't know if it would help, because he won't eat it. Now I will have to drive back out to get the other med. I had asked about it but he insisted on trying the benadryl first.
Below as in the past I will highly recommend PVC but mainly the few vets we have seen and trust. Would not recommend Wells or ever go back to see him.
