Dr. Ramesh R. Shah, a second generation ophthalmologist, opened his practice in Joplin, MO in 1986. He was the first and only fellowship-trained retina specialist in Joplin for more than 30 years. His daughter, Heeral R. Shah MD, joined him in 2014 after practicing in Tampa, Florida. She did an ophthalmology residency at Baylor College of Medicine, and a Retina fellowship at New England Eye Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
Their deep-rooted belief that patients deserve the highest quality of care using leading edge technology has led them to take care of generations of families.
Their practice boasts the most up-to-date treatment options in the area for all conditions, including injections for macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, lasers for retinal tears and detachments, uveitis treatment, cataract surgery and glaucoma treatment. The practice is the only comprehensive retina group in the area.
