They used to be the best in town but have become unreputable in the past couple of years due to constant soliciting for work and trying to charge for things you haven't asked for. If I don't post a response to a response from them I will continue this discussion on Yelp.
I recently took a car in to install an item that was listed on amazon at 6 dollars, they said it would cost nearly 200 to fix. I advised them on how to fix it and they knocked it down to 70 as they didn't need all the parts they wanted to buy. They then told me that one of their mechanics had taken the car out for a drive and found "potential issues" with the suspension, brakes, and steering. They wanted to charge me for the "test drive and service" that I hadn't asked for and they also wanted to charge me between 35 and 70 dollars to investigate the squeaks they might have found. (They actually fixed the suspension and replaced rotors previously on the car a couple of years back).
I spoke with firestone who said they would look at my brakes, suspension and steering for free.
Also, the previous two times I have not been offered a drive from or to the office even though the courtesy vehicle has been parked there.
I would be happy to have a phonecall with the owners.
Thank you for taking the time to talk to us and work out your concerns. Unfortunately at times relying on the dealership for parts and availability of small parts can be frustrating and in this case, we were told the inexpensive small part was not available, when in fact it was, though we can not compete with Amazon on parts pricing as you understood. Also, as we discussed, different folks have different needs and expectations. While a squeak to some is annoying and would want us to spend the time and locate, others are not concerned as was your case. We will work harder to understand your needs and communicate better with you in the future. Again thanks, and we look forward to meeting your needs at your next service.
