Great Vets. The techs are terrific and very knowledgeable. The building is first rate. I was given an estimate that was realistic and right on the money. I think I've seen all the vets and each was kind, sincere and very good with my cats. I will be going there for a long time to come.

The quickest service I've ever experienced at a Vet's office -- always. Everyone is friendly, efficient, and very caring.

I have been a client at Rocky Gorge for several years mostly due to it's proximity, range of services and size. They operate 24/7 and they've always been very accommodating with appointments and refilling scripts. The front desk/service staff have been wonderful. However, after many visits with different vets, I can say that the quality of services with majority of vets on staff seems sub-standard compared to a few vet practices I've tried in DC-MD metro area. There is an over-dependence upon prescribing meds that target specific issues, rather than taking a look at patient care in a comprehensive way. Most of the vets don't appear to consult the records very extensively prior to an appointment or speak with the other vets to get a better sense of history and approaches to care (what has worked, what has not). Is there any continuing education required? I saw a new vet the other day, after waiting 45 after my scheduled appointment and upon completion of the routine treatment, was quizzed on feeding habits for my elderly, arthritic dog with severe hip/joint problems. Without having any sense of history of my dog or asking about it, it was suggested that "someone may be lying" about what we give her. I was then instructed on how to walk her in a surprisingly patronizing manner, and told that my dog (who is certainly overweight) does in fact not need any exercise, just less food. When pressed on the logic beind such an approach, I was in fact assured that the trouble was only that she was being over fed and that my dog was outsmarting us on all fronts. Agreeing that she was indeed overweight, having a vet continue to ramble on about food after making the initial point and how best to walk her was rude and simply unnecessary. I asked more questions and received short, one word answers. There was zero intellectual curiosity about my dog's overall condition and no discussion about how we might alleviate/treat her other symptoms which might address overall well-being. I've received negative reviews of RG from other friends/colleagues pertaining to the lack of interest in providing more comprehensive care, but after this, I will be searching for a new vet practice that doesn't treat patients as if they're on a pharmaceutical assembly line and speak to their human guardians in such a patronizing manner. To be fair, other vets have been quite pleasant on a personal level, but this recent experience was absolutely unacceptable.

Dr. Ray is great! Had to wait a while longer than normal due to new techs or low staff.

As always your office is awesome!

Dilly was glad to see us, of course, and came home relaxed and happy. She's a little slow to warm up to new situations, so we think it was a definite plus that she got to room with her cousin.

Mabel Rice and Dilly Chase stayed together. They seemed to have done great and came back a very happy pair

My appointment was for 7:40 pm and I waited an hour to be seen. That is my only complaint. I have often had to wait for my appointments. Dr. Ray was great with my dog as always.
