Doc was pleasant enough, and answered all my questions patiently. Excessive charge for Contact lens fitting not covered by insurance. $185, really, for the extra 5 minutes ! In addition to what was charged to my insurance. Quite a nice hourly wage and I was told that amount in advance but it needn’t have been so high. Once you’re there and you have the appointment it would’ve been more inconvenient to leave and look for another provider. Receptionist was nice to me, but seemed short with phone customers while I waited for my appointment.
$185 fee is for contact lens fitting and evaluation for multi focal and tonic contact lenses. The fee also is a global fee including unlimited checkups for one year including emergencies. The fitting for multi focal lenses that correct astigmatism is a specialty area of contact lenses and many times requires several office visits and the use of multiple trial lenses to ensure the proper fit and preion of your contacts. On time. Efficient exam. Nice staff. Knowledgeable. I drive over an hour to see him.
The office was warm and inviting. I waited a very short time before seeing the doctor. He was very professional and efficient. The person working in the area where you pick out glasses was also very professional. It was the easiest time I had choosing glasses! He actually picked out a pair he thought would work and they were perfect! Overall I would highly recommend Dr. Jay Rosenfeld’s practice. You won’t be sorry.
