At Salem Valley, we strive to offer not only sound advice, but also optimal veterinary care, thus allowing you the enjoyment of your companion for a maximum number of years. Our job is not only to treat your pet when he or she isn't feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy.
Since 1983, Salem Valley Veterinary Clinic has forged lasting client relationships based on progressive medicine and fundamental concern for the well being of all animals. We hope to develop just such a relationship with you and your pet.
We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. The hospital facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, ultrasound, advanced small animal dentistry equipment, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and indoor boarding kennels with outdoor walking areas. For equine calls, we have two fully stocked ambulatory vehicles with digital radiography, ultrasound, and advanced dentistry equipment.

Dr. Slater and Dr. Barrett and two of the best vets that we have ever interfaced with. Their degree of professionalism and veterinary knowledge is second to none. Dr. Barrett's dental specialty is a God send. We have had three occasions where our dogs needed dental surgery including a root canal and cap. When I sent Dr. Barrett's photo documentation of the root canal procedure to our family dentist, he was overwhelmed with them and commented that the procedure was identical to the procedures used in human dentistry.
We highly recommend Salem Veterinary Clinic. It is further important to mention that the front office staff and vet techs are also very dedicated and committed to their professions.
