Having been a loyal guest of Salon West many, many years ago at the former location of the West Bay salon, I was looking forward to my visit since moving back to the area. I’m 35 now, so for 20 years, my usual “do” has always been white-blonde highlights, alternating between a full or partial foil, & cut in between visits. That being said, I am very familiar with how long the color typically lasts on my hair; using the same hair regimen, etc. My appt. was for Dec. 30th for a full foil and cut. I started to notice the color fade about a week and a half later, having only washed it once. After that point, I really didn’t want to wash it again in fear of the color fading even more- in which it progressively did. Not even 3-weeks later and my hair looks darker than it started out; before I had it done, it was mainly my roots that needing lightening, the overall color was still pretty light. So, for now I have a dingy, dishwater blonde look going combines with about a half-inch of regrowth. I’m not a stranger to higher-end salon prices, though my eyebrows did raise a bit for a $56 (trim) haircut. For the price paid, I would have surely appreciated the color to last at least 8 weeks until my next appointment. To the salon’s credit, I will say that they were overly gracious in rescheduling me after two mishaps in my own schedule between kids and work, and for that I was very, very appreciative. My stylist was also incredibly kind and a pleasure to meet. But all in all, I will not be returning, unfortunately.
