It is like going to your BEST friends house for a cut and color. WARM,FRIENDLY, HONEST. Kendall and his staff are amazing. They all go "BEYOND BASICS"". 5 stars are enough. I give them 105 stars. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From the time I walk in the door of Salon Beyond Basics until I walk out, I am treated with an atmosphere of respect (not just for me but for each other also), professionalism and genuine concern for my needs. Each time I am there, I leave feeling that I have had a rewarding and enjoyable experience. Kendall, Carrie and all the staff are so extremely friendly and helpful that you cannot help but want to return again and again. Yes, THAT'S why I drive over 3 hours to get my hair done.
I am going through chemotherapy treatment for breast cancer so I have lost all my hair. I had no confidence in my appearance and struggled with wearing wigs since the ones that I had purchased just didn't look right - looked like a wig. I had given up on feeling "pretty" and resorted to wearing hats.
When I arrived at Beyond Basics I was greeted by Kendal Fuqua. He took so much time with me to explain all the types of wigs and personally fitted the ones we selected. He also trimmed and styled the wigs for me. I left with an adorable short blonde wig on and felt so confident !! I felt pretty again which I hadn't felt in a long time..
On the way home, my boyfriend and I stopped off to eat and a women stopped me to compliment me on my "beautiful hair"!. Thank you to Kendal and his great staff.
I had a special haircut for curly hair, but it did not include any water whatsoever. Not a spritz from a sppray bottle, not a shampoo, not a condition, not a blow-dry... But I love my stylist, and he did a good job. I just think that, without all of the shampooing and such, the price should have been lower.
The salon lighting is very good, but the salon needs some upbeat, nice music that everyone can enjoy. And, being from Los Angeles, I'm used to being offered a glass of wine at a more upscale salon. I was offered water.
