I was very disappointed with my haircut. I tried Fleur-de-lis because it was closer to home and I could get in sooner than my with my desired stylist. Again, I'm reminded why I go to a salon with someone who specializes in curly hair.
I came in for a bob. I ended up with 6-8 inches cut off. So this was a big deal for me. I had 4 photos. 2 which showed the desired texture, one of which the length and two which showed what I did not want, the choppy look, which is great for fine hair, but not my thick, wavy, coarse hair. MOST stylists I've been to ASSUME all white girls can be styled and cut the same as if it's all just a fine, flat hair texture. SO frustrating. Anyway, I felt she understood what I wanted so I didn't want to be bossy about things, but it felt she was cutting too short in the back, but I wanted to trust her. I let her know that the back felt really short and she just assured me it was so short so the underneath wouldn't flip out. It's 2.5 inches shorter than what I wanted. That's a big deal!!! It is above my chin when I wanted it midway between my chin and shoulders!
THEN to make it even worse I was given a lazy and sloppy hair styling. It was 50-60% (as she said) diffused. She, Sheridan, put product in it and spent, literally about 3 minutes "diffusing" and sent me on my way. It was frizzy and horrid! I had somewhere to be afterwards.
What sucks is I was SO EXCITED. I decided anyone could do this because it was really just straight across. I didn't want layers, or any texturing. I LOVE my thick curly/wavy hair. Why do stylist also aassume you want all your hair thinned out!? To be made like every other thinned, fine haired caucausian? I allowed this because I assumed she knew what she was doing, but having this similar style years ago, I also know that my thick curly hair was suitable for this style.
I'm still frustrated, but what can I do? All my hair has been chopped off!
