Dr. Scott Pycraft was exposed to optometry from a very young age. His father, Ron Pycraft OD, was a local optometrist until 2005 when he retired and is currently serving our veterans at the Mansfield VA hospital. He attended Wooster High School where he graduated with honors in 2003. While attending high school he was active in athletics and was captain of the football team. He also earned varsity letters in wrestling, swimming, and track and field. After high school he went to Ohio Wesleyan University and majored in microbiology while minoring in chemistry. He was a member in the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity and also continued his football career. Dr. Pycraft was a four year varsity letter winner in football and earned all-conference honors his senior year. After his undergraduate studies, he attended The Ohio State University College of Optometry graduating with honors in 2011 and was a member of the optometric honor society Beta Sigma Kappa. While in school his love for the scarlet and gray grew stronger and he even attended the 2010 Rose Bowl where the Buckeyes beat the University of Oregon.

After graduation, Dr. Pycraft decided to move south and worked at Academy Optical in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Although he loved the warm weather, he missed being close to family and friends. He decided to come back to Wayne County and continue his family legacy. In the fall of 2012 Dr. Pycraft began seeing patients in his hometown and enjoyed serving the community that helped make him the man he is today. He has a real passion for helping children with vision disorders and performing vision therapy. He is passionate about providing the highest quality of eye care and protecting against eye diseases including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and cataracts.

Dr. Pycraft is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Ohio Optometric Association, and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. He is a proud participant in Infant See, a program designed to give a free exam to infants under the age of one. He is also a presenter for the Realeyes program, which educates school children on the importance of eye health. Dr. Pycraft has gone on many mission trips to Honduras with Central American Medical Outreach (CAMO) and loves the impact that he can make on those that are less fortunate.

In the fall of 2013 he married his high school sweetheart, Elyse. In the winter of 2015 he obtained his most important job title yet: dad. His son Graham is known to stop byt the office and help unsuspecting patients pick out their glasses. He does a good job but is a little more partial to the color green. The happy couple welcomed a second child in the fall of 2017, a little girl named Avery into the world. The two children make up some of the artwork in the office including the two babies wearing their dad's glasses in the waiting room. In his spare time he loves walking his dog Snickers and being an uncle to his wonderful nieces and nephew.
