The original service was average nothing particularly outstanding. The warranty is not worth the paper it is printed on. My transmission failed at about 2,500 miles of use. Cause of the failure was the transmission cooler clogged up allowing the transmission to overheat and burn up.
They refused to honor the 12,000 mile or 12 month warranty on parts and labor warranty. Their claim is that they recommended an additional cooler be installed when I had the transmission rebuilt.
My questions to them were,
1. When I picked up the vehicle shiftright gave me an unconditional 12,000 mile or 12 month warranty on parts and labor. No conditions were noted by shiftright limiting the warranty.
2. "If you thoroughly cleaned the existing transmission parts and flushed the cooling system, then filled the transmission with new fluid, where did the material that clogged the cooler come from?"
There was no reply other than you should have installed an additional cooler.

Thank you Mr. Jones for making the case for how important it can be to accept the advice of our experienced technicians. In this case, as in all situations where the transmission is tied in with the radiator, we always HIGHLY recommend allowing us to isolate the transmission from the radiator with the installation of a separate transmission cooler. The additional cost is negligible compared to the cost of your transmission! In this case, the customer declined the additional cost for this added protection. Additionally, our warranties are not "unconditional", as implied here. Proper maintenance is always a condition of any warranty and a dirty radiator that clogs your cooler lines, while unfortunate, cannot be attributed to the quality of our transmissions.
