I FEEL I WAS OVER CHARGED BY $100.00 FOR THE GEL FOAM,WHICH I DID NOT GET THE OPPORTUNITY TO DECLINE. THE DR. TOLD ME THERE WAS NO INFECTION IN THE GUM,SO I SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN GIVEN IT.

I just wanted an exam and cleaning that provided and approved by my insurance. The treatment plan that was proposed included 2 crowns ($3000) and a very expensive cleaning ($3000). I cannot afford the cost of the type of cleaning the treatment plan recommend. I explained to the girl at the desk that I could not even afford my share (50%) of the cleaning. It appears that the level of cleaning was $3000 and my share would be $1500. I requested an appointment for a regular cleaning that my insurance would pay for. I was told that I could not have that. If the doctor prescribed the more expensive cleaning that is what I was required to have. I was told that I could go somewhere else if I wanted a regular cleaning. I again called Delta Care USA and was told that I could decline procedures I did not want.

I feel that I was left with no other alternative but to go to another provider for a dental cleaning and pay out of pocket for a service that I thought my dental plan paid for.

I am disappointed that I was not given the opportunity to discuss this with the dentist.

The Doctors, Hygeniest, and office staff were all awesome, and very nice and pleasant. It did take quite a long time to get in for my 11:00 appointment but it was explained that there was an emergency earlier so I completely understand that. The part that lowers my rating to 3 stars is that I met the Doctor and he did his exam and it seemed very rushed and a new bridge job was diagnosed without what I feel hardly any explanation. I trust his judgement 100%, where I'm having my hesitation is that I didn't really get any full explanation, I didn't see the x rays of what he was looking at and pretty much for the whole examination he seemed to talk to the assistant and not to me. The rest of the visit went very smooth, it's just my opinion that a big dental job like a new replacement bridge with possible cavities is something that should be fully explained and understood to a patient. Going to the dentist is scary enough without having enough information that allows gaps that a human mind can make even more scarier without a doctors knowledge to put the patient at ease with information.
