Thank you for your kind comment! A periodontal maintenance cleaning is different from a regular cleaning called a prophylaxis. The hygienist is cleaning not only above but also below the gum line. It is not as intensive as a scaling and root planing, which is probably the reason it did not feel the way you expected.
