Dr. Vargas was raised in Texas until after high school and started his undergraduate education at Southern Adventist University in Collegedale Tennessee where he received his Bachelors of science in Biology. His passion for teaching lead him into a educational career at Loma Linda University where he obtained his Masters degree in Gross Anatomy.

I took my now vintage 1987 Buick Park Avenue into Lloyd's for a diagnosis of several engine issues. Lloyd's mechanics provided me with a detailed evaluation in writing. Given the potentially catastrophic nature of part of the diagnosis (timing chain in need of immediate replacement), I authorized the work. Once the mechanic had the housing apart and part(s) removed I was invited back to see for myself what they found. Let's just say I was amazed the car had even been running. The work was completed and I was pleased how well the car once again ran. However, a couple days later I was horrified to find the crankcase oil on my garage floor. I called Lloyd's, explained the situation. What was their response? "We'll have a tow truck there in less than an hour!" They did. Even though the cause (malfunction of the oil pump resulting in excessive oil pressure) was not directly related to the earlier repairs, the additional repairs were made, the car extensively test-driven to insure all issues were resolved, and the car returned to me. In my opinion, it would be near impossible to find a car repair facility with this degree of integrity, customer relations, and quality service anywhere in the Spokane area.
