South Orange Animal Hospital has been serving the South Orange, Maplewood, and other northern NJ communities for 70 years. Dr. Marc Levine, a graduate of Cornell University, has over 35 years of experience. Through our quality work, attention to detail and prompt service, we have built a solid reputation of customer satisfaction.
Our goal is to provide state-of-the-art medical services with personalized care and compassion for you and your pet. We offer a full line of Hills Prescription Diets, as well as flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Our small and friendly staff will get to know you and your pet. Most routine surgical procedures require no hospitalization.

Utmost professionalism from these Vets. Did what they had to do with my cat, gave him a thorough examination. Plus advise me on how to take care of his weight, being he’s a big cat, and took care of his discharged ears. Did their best to trim his claws. Lastly the communication was great, so the service they provided was grade A.

My 10 year old Havanese needed teeth extracted. Dr. Levine personally greeted us and explained the process and later called to explain how things had gone. His staff were very attentive and professional. Having switched from a practice we had been with over the past twenty years (2 dogs) because of their unprofessional and impersonal behavior, this was a very refreshing experience!

Dr. Mark Levine is excellent. He's kind, warm, knowledgable and always provides exellent carefor our cat. Our current cat (15 years old) is a sweetheart, but our previous cat who lived to be 12 was a terror. She was impossible to treat and still Mark was amazing, patient and caring. I highly recommend South Orange Vet Hospital to all. Truly thankful.

I called South Orange right at 9am with a true dog emergency and the woman on the phone was so super helpful. I brought my dog right over and they could immediately evaluate her, called me with my options and gave me such good advice. I find SOAH to be so caring and compassionate and I have always had in the past 2 crazy pandemic years such good experience with the doctor's, nurses and phone staff. Thank you!
