I brought my dog in for a neuter & upon pick up I told that a CBC had been run. I questioned the receptionist as to why h she said it was because my dog wasn't currently on a flea & tick preventative. My issue was not that the bloodwork was done, but that information was not disclosed at drop off. Thankfully I had enough money to cover the unexpected charge. I would just encourage you to stress to the front desk people that it is imperative that things like this are disclosed at drop off.
