Here is an aspect of the Standley Shores Dental Group that I have always noticed but pretty much taken for granted. I try to arrive early for my appointments, out of consideration for my provider. What I have always noticed is how nice the reception area is. Unlike most dental offices, the reception area is very spacious. Considering how much medical office space costs per square foot, the dental group has made a sizable investment in the customer's comfort. There is seating available for probably 25 people. There is room for double that number. The result is a very comfortable waiting room that gives you plenty of personal space. The space is very light and airy because the north wall is all windows. The space is very open and welcoming. There is reading material available. What is nice is that it is always in the rack by the receptionist. The magazines and papers do not spread throughout the waiting area during the day. The staff makes sure that the magazines and papers return to the rack maintaining the uncluttered appearance in the waiting room. The back counter in the waiting room provides access to many different types of teas and coffees. There is a small cooler where you can pick up a cold bottle of water. When you have little ones, there are accommodations for entertaining the younger patients and visitors. As you enter the waiting room through the front door you walk past a very large water feature that fills the room with a very pleasant background sound of running water. The panels in the water feature are very nice to watch and help with relaxation. Of course, you are always greeted with a smile by the friendly receptionist. She always has time to greet you and answer any questions you might have or consult with you on any other matters relating to the operation of the office and your visit. When the time comes from your appointment, the staff comes out the far door and greets you by name. What I notice is that the staff personnel know who you are. They look right at you and welcome you. Only first time visitors seem to be looked for around the room. Everybody else is recognized by the hygienist or doctor. It always amazes me that the staff remembers and knows who you are. It's like friends and family. On a more personal note, if you need a recommendation for a hygienist who is simply the best, you need to request Donna. She has been my hygienist for ten years and you don't find many who stay with one practice for that long. She is always a pleasure to visit with and makes your procedure virtually care free. But no matter who you meet with, your experience at the Standley Shores Dental Group will be a wonderful experience.
