At first about a year ago, Stand Auto helped me out.. I thought these guys are the place that will fix my truck/cars if ever I have an issue again.. Six months later I had a warning light in my Yukon. Was told I need a new fuel filter, pump and Evap Can. Got that replaced, then was told I need a new harness on my 2007 Yukon, got that replaced, came in multiple times as lights on my dash were constantly on, brought it was told I need a new $6000 transmission (parts&labor) cuz if I got a new tranny, I would also need to replace extra parts.. I took it to GMC, to which they said tranny is fine & the reason for the codes is a $50 part that was missing.. Missing from Stan's rewiring my harness. $200 later it went off, but still had ABS & Traction light on, took back to Stan's.. They now said my shocks are bad but I replaced 2 years ago($450 a piece at GMC(Stan's quoted me $700 a piece)).. And said it would fix my issue, much like a new tranny... To sum up this mystery.. The 2 lights on my dash.. Took it to a GMC Dealer in Pueblo CO.. They ran a compression test on every spark plug, found out my Lifters 2,4,6,8 were damaged from the engine that shuts off at 55 mph.. And the AVF which shuts off the engine is bad.. Which turns off my abs and traction control. Spent $2000 to fix it.. Everything works like it was brand new.. No more lights on my dash... I spent $6000 at Stan's auto in 1 year... They wanted me to spend $12000 but I went to the dealership and spent $2000... Not to mention every time I took it here I asked for them to replace or fix an issue and they came back to say it's fine, but we found this issue.. Took it to GMC.. With the same concerns.. They fixed what I asked and pointed out 3-4 things that Stan's Mech had to visibly see but were waiting for it to become an issue and make more money were GMC pointed them out and I fixed.. My case is rare, but just beware
Chris, first we apologize for all the issues you've had on this vehicle. It was frustrating for us too. If you recall we fixed an abs problem under warranty that was done at a shop in Utah in 6/10/14. Secondly remember you told us your vehicle was in a major wreck and $25,000 was spent trying to fix it. You said it has never been the same since. On 7/20/15 The vehicle came in with a crank no start issue. The fuel pump had low fuel pressure and the computer had numerous codes in history. We can print you the history if you like. Some of the codes -throttle body issue, ignition circuit fault, incorrect idle learn, water coming into engine from aftermarket air intake causing issues with the mass air flow sensor. We replaced fuel pump and you took the vehicle . The vehicle returned on 7/27/15 with a crank no start again. We found someone had repaired/ replaced throttle body parts, after market alarm on vehicle causing issues, The main vehicle harness damaged-had been temporarily repaired by prior shop. We replaced the harness and reprogrammed the computer -which is required when throttle body is repaired(upgrade). You then returned on 11/30/15 with a check engine light on-symptoms were transmission slow shift cold, also codes were stored for transmission and transfer case lost memory, rear camera issues. Battery was internally shorted -we replaced it. We at that time informed you that the brakes were low and that the right rear shock was inoperative. Which we priced from GM and used their MSRP price. The total of all invoices is 4678.85 which includes the $400 warranty repair of wheel bearing that was first done somewhere else. This is the first time we've heard of the Pueblo repairs-when was this done? And you had never mentioned that your vehicle shuts down at 55MPH. Eddie did go for a road test with you and you could not get it to act up. All we knew about was the repair done at Gebhardts after the fact-which said a hold down was missing but no parts were charged to you-only labor. We carry a 2year /24,000 mile nationwide waranty on our work. Unfortunately you never brought the issue to our attention before the repair so that we could cover it under Autocare warranty. I am sorry we did not get the opportunity to rectify the situation. Sincerely Stans Auto
