The folks at Stellar are decent to work with, but their prices are consistently higher than most other shops in the area. Work that was quoted at $1,100 at another shop, for instance, was quoted at more than $2,000 at Stellar.
I have questions about their ability to diagnose problems correctly, as well. One problem I had, they could not diagnose after extensive testing. They did not listen, nor seem to care about, what I was telling them, they just relied on their computer diagnosis.
After spending a lot of money with them replacing a part that probably didn't need replacing, I took the vehicle (which still had the problem I initially went to Stellar to fix) to another local shop that listened to my description of what was wrong, popped the hood, and had it fixed in under three minutes - for free.
I've had several of these kind of experiences at Stellar, and have found another shop where I feel more confidence in their ability to diagnose problems, and in their rates.
Reviews are always welcomed as it help us to let us know where we stand with our customers. When a Review is Anonymous, it has to make you wonder if it is a real customer or is it someone out to damage your reputation. In my opinion the review may be the latter, here's why: 1st our estimates are not 90% higher than our competition when comparing apples to apples (I would like to see these estimates side by side), most shops estimate the bare minimum as a way to lure you in. We try to estimate worst case scenarios so there are no surprises later. (I would rather over estimate and give back than keep calling and asking for more). 2nd...We have on staff 3 ASE Certified Master Technicians with over 75 years of combined experience. If we could not diagnose or constantly misdiagnosed customers cars, we would not be able to keep a 100% Customer Satisfaction with AAA (Auto Club of Southern California) as well a been given the AAA Quality Award. 3rd..The review mentions "several" of these experiences with our shop, yet if this is true why have you never talked with management about your concerns as we in your words "are decent to work with"?. We take pride in what we do, value all of our customers and make every attemp to diagnose and repair cars right the first time, give the best value for the money spent, and give the best warranty in the business.
