I stopped in to have my Lexus smogged. Although the technician was at lunch, he serviced the car right away and I was on my way within minutes. I was both grateful and impressed.

I have been going here for many years and I've never had problems with Art and the other guy who passed away. Yesterday was my first time with this front guy. HE is rude and disrespectful. He was overbearing and insisted that I do things this way because the state of California requires it. He was pushy and forced his opinion on the customers. I told him I trusted Art for years and he pointedly corrected me saying "trust the mechanic not us, they are the one you should trust". I told him I needed oil change and take care of the check engine light on before I can smog check my car. He said "did you know the state of CA requires you to drive your car 100m-200miles after a smog check? I was incredulous but I gave up because he had to have the last word. Then he said the state of CA requires 30,000miles maintenance and gave me a quote on their BG advanced formula. I said I just want the ordinary one and he said "no it's not good for your car". I said do you still offer it? He said "we have it but we dont recommend it." I said it was fine before the BG and he interrupted "No its not fine. It's not good for your car and proceeded to tell me all the benefits of using the BG products" The man is overbearingly rude. They found my rear O2 sensor needs repair. He said usually all O2sensors should be changed the same time. HE said my gasket is leaking. When I calculated everything he told me it was almost $3,000 to change all my O2 sensor, rear brakes and gasket plus oil change. He also persisted on telling me to use the high end oil for $59? I did just to shut him up. They missed the TRAC LIGHT that's consistently on in my car. I drove back to ask what it is about and why nobody noticed it. They tried to Clear it and he said "WE DONT KNOW WHY THE TRAC LIGHT IS ON THERE's NO CODE< WE TRIED TO CLEAR IT BUT IT WONT CLEAR". I left. He needs to go to customer service class and find out how to be helpful without being overbearing, Give your customer the options in a neutral tone and when they say no accept it with a graceful attitude and continue to provide excellent service. Dont say "NO IT's NOT GOOD" "NO YOU NEED THIS" "THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA REQUIRES YOU TO DO THIS". I am not your friend. I am accustomed. I am not your colleague. I am a customer. This is not how you talk to your customers. Your job is to give facts as it is in a neutral tone. Your feelings is your own. Do not force your opinion on others. You have no right to talk to me and treat me the way you did. I am not your child. You dont pay for my car. If I choose what you dont like. dont say "okay its your decision" in a sarcastic tone. Say "ok we'll do it with a sincere smile and tone of voice" and leave.
