AGGRAVATED.....I have been here a few times, spent a lot of money. The staff is wonderful, the doc seems kind. My problem is with last visit. I have a problem cat. She hatessssssss being handled. She has to be gassed to get groomed, she turns into a literal tiger when examined. Mean as a cobra. She had a full exam in Oct. I mean all blood, urine, etc. I am taking her with me on a plane trip and needed a certificate for her to board, Doc insisted he had to examine her again! 2 months later! Another $125 dollars. He felt her stomach and looked in her eyes....period. I won't be back. Groomer does a super job, the techs are kind, the gals at desk are sweet as can be, but I always leave there feeling I've been taken advantage of. I will give it a 4 out of generosity to the staff. They tolerated me.
Thank you very much for your honest feedback. We are very pleased that you have trusted our team to care for your cat and her special needs, and we have been very happy to do so. In your first two visits with us we gave you estimates in advance to prevent any surprises. Your last visit was simply the exam and the certificate. We are dismayed you feel our level care was taking advantage of you.
The USDA is extremely specific when it comes to pet travel certificates and how they are completed. As the AVMA explains, all health certificates can only be signed after an accredited veterinarian examines the pet determining that it is free of infectious diseases and satisfies all import requirements of the receiving state, territory, or country. There are also requirements as to the time frame of the exam and the travel date (typically no longer than 10-30 days depending on your destination). This protocol ensures the most current condition of the pet is documented before travel.
We would also like to address the exam - Dr. John examined to the best of his ability (he was listening to her heart while feeling the stomach) considering your cat's temperament without using anesthesia. Had he insisted on sedation, the bill would have been much higher. He did all he could to keep the bill reasonable which is far from taking advantage of you.
Rest assured our team has never felt that we have tolerated any client. We understand that every client and pet has different needs and we bend over backwards to assist every single one of them without judgement. We are proud of our medicine, our patient and client care, and above all, our ethics.
