I had a pipe burst in January and called this company to fix it. The guy who showed up said he couldn't fit under the crawl space so he would have to call his boss. His boss, who was smaller came out to look at it. He said he got in there and noticed lots of water damage and that the structure holding up the house was sinking because of a whole. He said he couldn't believe the floor hadn't buckled already. Said the only way to fix it would be to tear out the shower and go through the floor to pour concrete to shore up the support. Said I was looking at several thousand dollars to fix it and that he could remodel the bathroom while he had it torn apart anyway for an extra few hundred. Also suggested that to really do it "right" he would just gut that area and start from scratch including plumbing and all. Well, since my insurance disagreed with that assessment, and I didn't have the money, I called someone I knew that could do temporary fix on the plumbing until I could save some cash up. He couldnt crawl back to it either and said that from what he could tell there was no damage but that he couldn't get all the way back to it to be sure. So he then suggested we cut another crawl space entrance on the opposite side (closer to the shower) and we were both able to get into it and saw that there was clearly no water damage. The wood had dried out and was fine. And as far as "that end of the house caving in" and the floor buckling, well, we found that the supports WERE on foundation and that it was steel beam supports. We found no hole at all that was sinking and taking the structure with it. My plumbing is now fixed as well as dried out and better insulated to avoid future issues and the final cost including all misc materials and labor is a whopping $200. Now, in some aspects, I will give this company benefit of a doubt if he couldn't get to it to really see what was going on but he said he did and IF he actually did which I doubt, then he is in my mind just padding the project for extra work/money. I rarely give bad reviews and have hesitated twice about giving this one but having known several people in the past two winters that had plumbing problems, I would feel partly responsible if they chose a company and didn't receieve satisfaction knowing that I could have warned them and didn't. I won't say they don't do good work. From what I understand they do, but they might do way more work than required.
