I went in because I hadn't been to the dentist in a long time. The staff was friendly and was eager to start work on my mouth, which they did the first and only time I walked in there. After being seated in the dental chair, they took x-rays and subsequently began work on my mouth. First they said a root canal needed to be done, then subsequently a bridge, and then some other things in addition. The reason that I'm giving a sub-par rating is because I really didn't receive paperwork or an itemized list or an invoice telling me what needed to be done. They sort of charged as the appointment went on and told me in person about future work that needed to be done. It was sort of a verbal contract which I found unprofessional. Perhaps I'll get some of the things suggested, however the exorbitant cost, even with insurance, I might perhaps pursue another dentist to get some of the other stuff done.
My primary fear is that when the dentist begins working on my mouth again, there might be hidden bonus fees that are tacked onto the initial verbal contract.
As far as the procedure went, the doctor knows how to numb one up for dental work. Overall, I appreciated the initiative and the concern, and care. But looking around the incredibly nice office, I feel I might be paying more than for dental work.
