Tender Smiles for Kids - Somerset replied:
Unfortunately, versed sedation is not effective for all children, especially those with strong gag reflexes. The treatment necessary required complete cooperation and maintaining a dry environment in the mouth which required continuous suction. If left untreated, caries in children can develop into infections that require extractions. We have found that the most effective and safest way to treat a severely apprehensive child is under General Anesthesia.
