I needed a haircut on short notice and they were able to accommodate me. Reception was warm and friendly. My stylist was very new so I didn't get exactly what I wanted but he was attentive and asked good questions. He did have good chair chatter and wanted to please the customer, just needs more practice and training.

Great kaitlyn gave me my dream hair that I needed and wanted. She was so kind and fun to talk to for those few hours and gave me exactly what I asked for and more! Can’t wait to come back in July and go brighter with her !

Terrible experience. From the time I spoke to your receptionist on the phone. I called Saturday to see if your salon had time for a straighten wash and blow dry. The receptionist said yes. I then proceeded to let her know I’m a woman of colour with thicker curly hair. After telling her that she said "than we won’t be able to take you today but maybe next week" I feel you should NEVER turn away a person because of their ethnicity not only is it unprofessional it’s racist. After complaining and letting her know you can not just turn somebody away after already offering them an appointment. She then proceeded to book me in. The straighten job I received was terrible my roots were still curly and my hair was full of oil. I had to rewash it after I just paid to have my hair "professionally" done . I believe every stylist should know how to do thicker curly hair and nobody should be turned away because they have different hair. I was honestly embarrassed by the way my hair looked. I actually went home and cried this situation reminded me of every time I’ve ever been bullied because of my hair. I looked at your Instagram, you don’t even have one person of colour on your page and it’s sad and embarrassing actually. Do better educate your staff.

My visit with Kaitlyn was pleasant as always. She was friendly, courteous and did a good job cutting my hair. She also wore a mask, which I appreciated. What I did not appreciate, was the fact the the two receptionists did not wear masks and I saw one hairstylists not wearing a mask. I asked Kaitlyn about this and she told me that the Head Shoppe does not require their staff to wear masks. Because of this, if I did not like Kaitlyn's services, and Kaitlyn as a person, I would not return to the Head Shoppe. I also would not recommend the business to anyone. I choose early morning appointments to avoid being around too many people but I can tell you that if my stylist did not wear a mask or I was seated next to a stylist or patron without a mask, I would leave the Head Shoppe and not return. I feel that during the COVID-19 pandemic all patrons and staff should be wearing masks.
