I was bummed I didn't get to use any of the high tech equipment they talk about on their website. Apparently, using the equipment helps your foot get fitted for the best shoe. I did however get great customer service and two pairs of awesome shoes!

Bryanna - Thanks for shopping with us leaving us a review. I'm curious what high tech equipment were you expecting to use? We utilize the Brannock device (foot measurer) and listening to the consumer's reactions to shoes. When customers have a nagging injury we sometimes put them onto the treadmill and watch their form and utilize a VCR to record so the customer can see what we see. While this method of treadmill / video used to be the standard 10 years ago, today's shoe fitting is more about fitting the shoe to the foot vs. changing biomechanics. If you like I can give you quick treadmill video of your running and make suggestions.

I recently got orthotics and wanted really good shoes so that I could walk properly again. My doctor recommended New Balance or Brooks but the salesman at The Balanced Athlete showed me the Hoka. They did not have them in my size so I had to place an order. Shoes came in before promised time. When I went to pick them up, I couldn't believe how comfortable they were, like walking on air, no nerve pain!! I would recommend The Balanced Athlete to anyone who needs some help with what kind of shoes would work best for them.

I want to support your business as the owner has always been very kind and helpful to my family. The problem is you are usually under staffed. I came in with my three children. There were two other customers with one employee. That's a 5:1 ratio and by the time we left there were many more customers. We come to your store for the personal attention but it's impossible when there aren't enough people working. This is our typical experience.

On this particular day that you and your family had come in 85% of our business happened in the last 1.5 hours of the day. (We had already sent the other staff member home) Its a fine line to over / under staff to get the personal attention that we love to give. Another option is to book an appointment with Eric. I took my daughters car in to have the dash light fixed. They said that it started working when they began working on it and couldn't get it to go off again. I asked what if it went out again and was just told the same story. Thus no guaraunte on service. The dash light stopped working half way home and I was out $145.00 . I have been very happy in the past with cost and service. But I don't have $145 to give away. So I lost a lot of respect for this company with this last job.
