First impressions after my initial visit: Dr. Stone comes across as a personable leading expert in his field. He was able to assess my knee condition in far greater detail and identify remedies that my Kaiser Orthopedic surgeon could not. This is a non-covered service under Kaiser but I am willing to pay out of pocket to deal with someone with the knowledge and ability to provide options other than just a knee brace or partial knee replacement (which is all Kaiser would provide). I plan to start conservatively in dealing with my meniscus and cartilage problem and see how much improvement is achieved before taking more aggressive surgical solutions.
The staff are friendly and professional. I especially found the PT Jake to be extremely thorough and personable. Be aware that if you have not had a recent MRI you will probably need one for Dr. Stone to provide a thorough analysis. I came with X-rays only and needed to have an MRI done there so that Dr. Stone could properly assess my situation so I could get full value from my visit. You may want to explore this option prior to arriving for your first appointment.
My follow-up appointment is next week and I will update with additional info at that time.
