My son and I were both scheduled for cleanings, and my son had two extractions. He was called back for his extraction first, and I questioned why he wouldn't have had his cleaning before that. It was then that I was informed that the second hygienist had called out and the dentist was ready to see my son right then. Needless to say, he did not have his cleaning and I now have to bring him back to the office again.
Also, when I checked in, I was asked by the receptionist if I had been informed of the fee for his extraction. I was not, and she told me that the fee set by my HMO was $130 per tooth. I questioned it, as my daughter had previous extractions at $60 each. I was told that because an oral surgeon did those extractions, the fee was different. The receptionist asked if I wanted to cancel the extractions and go to an oral surgeon. I declined, as my son was ready for the procedure. I realize that Tooth Fairy Dental does not set the prices, however, I would have liked to have been notified of the charge when I set the appointment. I could have made an informed decision and not one at that very moment.
I have always been pleased with the quality of care and the office staff, but Friday's appointment was very disappointing.
