Had phase 1 of 2 of deep cleaning, and appreciated Sean's step-by-step description of the procedure and unflagging encouragement! Would REALLY appreciate someTV, screen, picture, hologram or truly anything to look at during the procedure to distract my attention from the work going on in my mouth! Please consider installing even a photo on the wall.

2 root canals this morning and I didn't feel a thing. Total Health Care Dental takes incredibly good care of their patients. I highly recommend this practice.

The practice is focused on a holistic approach which refers to nutrition and other services that they offer to complement the dentistry.

I really appreciate my hygienist's professionalism and passion for patient education, and the office is spotlessly clean. The dentists seem competent if condescending ("good girl! you did a GREAT job!" to an adult patient).

There is an element of "hard sales" in this office (aggressive restoration recommendations, pay NOW incentives, upsell/cross sell messages while on hold, etc ) that leaves a slightly bad taste in my mouth. This was pointed out to me by another patient, and now I really notice it. The tone is a more reminiscent of a used car dealership than a professional healthcare setting.

I really like the dental staff. They are professional and very competent. They do a very good job of making a person that is uncomfortable at the dentist comfortable.

While the dental staff is the reason I keep coming back, the office staff (non-dental personnel) is something that I'd prefer to avoid. While they are doing their job, they give me the feeling that I am at a used car dealership. They are very swarmy and I feel like customer service is not their priority but rather the "sale".

This maybe how things are now. But I like the days when service was top notch and people would hear from word of mouth etc. But now they have asked several times to post reviews on Yelp while sometimes falling short on the customer service aspect.

My advice is to take care of the customer first and they will be more than happy to give good reviews rather than beg for a good review before the service is complete.

The service is very thoughtful and thorough, and the space is beautiful. In my humble opinion, this shop could be the best one in the east bay, but right now they are only 80% of the way there. The decor is cool, sleek, and modern. The selection of frames is current and well varied. The only aspect that detracts from this great start is that the examination spaces and the 'back of house' counters, etc. are somewhat cluttered and seem a little disorganized. The sleek, euro feel is somewhat diminished by what feels like a home that hasn't been tended to for a week or two. Otherwise, this place is great.
