Searching for a new dentist is always a fairly stressful event. You don’t want to end up in some dingy hole in the wall place or right next to an HEB. At the same time, as an adult, you don’t want to go somewhere with elephants holding balloons painted all over the walls. I was looking for something that felt bright, clean and 21st century. Not trendy, just professional. That’s when I found Town Center Dental, and I am so glad I did.
To start, after I made an appointment, I received a text message confirming the appointment. The day before the appointment, I received a text reminder about it. Very helpful.
When I arrived for my appointment I was immediately greeted by the receptionist. Since they don’t stack 30 appointments on top of each other, I was greeted by my name as she knew exactly who the next patient was. Impressive. She handed me the paperwork to fill out and I took a seat in the waiting area. The waiting area is bright and white and clean with just enough color to make it feel comfortable.
My appointment was at 12:30. I arrived at about 12:15, filled out my paperwork and was preparing for the 30-45 minute wait that always happens at doctors’ and dentists’ offices. At 12:28, the door opened and the dental assistant called me back to be seen. Wow, how many times have I had an appointment at a doctor’s office, gotten there on time, and had to wait an hour to actually SEE the doctor. Impressive again!!
Once inside I was amazed at how modern the equipment was. This is not your dentist from when you were a kid, this is state of the art stuff. Digital x-rays with the x-ray out on the TV that was attached to the chair.
Dr Momin came in to explain to go over the x-rays with me and what options we had to fix my root canal gone bad from another dentist. I loved the fact that he thoroughly explained exactly what was currently happening with the tooth and what the different scenarios were for treatment. Ultimately, we decided on extraction.
I have never had such large dental work done with so little pain (none) and with so little ancillary damage done to my mouth. Usually, dentist will chew up your tongue, the insde of your cheeks, and anything else that gets in the way of doing what they need to do. I assume that they just think it is part of the “healing process”. Well, let me tell you, Dr. Momin was so precise that nothing else in my mouth was damaged (and he had to do some serious drilling!!) He was so precise that the next morning after my procedure, there was NO SWELLING in my mouth and I was seriously considering not taking any pain medication.
If you are looking for a bright, state of the art facility with the a dentist that is professional, transparent and REALLY good at what he does; if you are looking for a dentist that you won’t have to worry about pain or if there was another route to take for treatment, a dentist that does a great job AND relieves anxiety, then RUN to Town Center Dental. You won’t be sorry.
